Placing an Order:

To keep track of rewards and using my platform for communication with customers - a website membership is now required to place an order. Memberships are free! It best allows me to give out coupons and a reward system. 

I do not recommend trying to create multiple accounts for the initial $2.00 discount because you will never build points and ultimately choose the smallest discount each time.

Cancellation:

What if I no longer want my order?
If you no longer want your sweets, please contact KayTell’s Sweets at least 2 days before your pick-up date. If you fail to do so, it will be hard to receive service from KayTell’s again. The deposit/retainer is still non-refundable.

If no one picks up the cake within the agreed time frame without communication, the order will be canceled no refund will be issued for, and the customer may not order again.

If you are running late, please communicate, or else the order will be an assumed cancellation.

Deposit:

Is there a deposit and how much is it?
For every order there is a 50% non-refundable deposit/retainer which is required. You may pay in full if you wish. Failure to pay the deposit within 12 hours of placing your order will result in it being rejected. There will be further directions at checkout.


Payment:

What are my payment options?

These options will be at checkout for you to see as well.

  • Cashapp at $KayTell

  • Apple Cash or Zelle at 443-600-2072

  • Card, which can be used at checkout or you can request an invoice by contacting us so that you can pay just the deposit on your card (Select Cash to confirm order for this option).

  • Cash, you may not drop off deposits. Only for the remainder.


Location:

Where are you located?
The closest cross-roads to my location is Belair Road and Moravia Road. Exact address is sent the day of your order, but do not worry, no longer than 2 minutes will be added to your travel time from those cross-roads.

 

Customization:

How do I order custom cake toppers or request a themed cake?
Toppers - Please contact me before or after placing your order with your name and email, I will be able to assist in the designing and pricing of the topper.

KayTell’s Sweets is a home-based, pre-order bakery offering custom desserts and occasional flash same-day sales. Please review the policies below before placing your order.

Safety & Kindness Policy

KayTell’s Sweets reserves the right to decline or cancel any order if I feel that my safety, privacy, or boundaries are being disrespected.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Aggressive or rude communication

  • Harassment or repeated contact outside of business hours

  • Inappropriate behavior at the pickup location

  • Attempts to visit the residence outside of your scheduled pickup time

This is a home-based business. I ask all customers to approach communication and interaction with kindness and respect.

Disrespectful messages will not be tolerated and may result in your order being canceled without refund if a deposit has already been made.

Ordering & Availability

  • Check Availability First: Availability may change quickly. Just because the website accepts your order does not mean your date is available or that your order meets the required lead time. You can check availability here: https://www.kaytellssweets.com/availability

    • If your order is outside the required notice window, it will be canceled and refunded automatically. I will not reach out to adjust the date.

  • Order Minimum Lead Times:

    • Cupcakes must be ordered at least one full calendar week in advance. Rush requests may be accepted for a fee if space allows.

    • Cakes must be ordered at least 2 full weeks in advance.

      • Some custom cakes may require additional time.

  • Add-ons: Please select all desired add-ons during your order. If something is not listed, contact me to confirm availability and cost before placing your order.

 

Limited Holiday & School-Year Availability

Please note: Availability is limited during holidays and the school year due to scheduling constraints. If you plan to place an order for a holiday weekend or during the school year, it is best to order as early as possible. Last-minute availability is extremely rare during these times.

Payments & Deposits/Retainer

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit/retainer is required within 12 hours of placing your order to secure your spot.

    • Deposits go toward your final total.

    • Slots are taken quickly. If your deposit is not received in time, your spot may be taken by someone else.

  • Orders without timely deposits will be automatically canceled without follow-up.

  • The remaining balance is due before pickup or delivery. If paying cash, you must notify me in advance.

 

Accepted payment methods:

  • Card: You may pay in full at checkout.

  • If you wish to pay only the 50% deposit using card, please:

    • Select Offline at checkout

    • Then contact me to request a custom invoice for the deposit only

Refunds & Complaints

  • Deposits/Retainer are non-refundable, even if an order is canceled by the customer.

  • Once an order is picked up or delivered, the customer assumes full responsibility for transportation and storage. I take great care to ensure quality up to the point of handoff, but I cannot be held liable for damage that occurs after the item leaves my possession.

  • Taste is subjective. Refunds will not be issued based on personal taste preferences unless the incorrect flavor was made.

  • If you believe there is a genuine quality issue with your order, you must contact me within 12 hours of pickup or delivery. Photo evidence and a written explanation are required.

  • Refunds will not be considered without both valid documentation and a clear deviation from what was agreed upon during ordering.

 

Pickup & Delivery

Pickup:

  • Remain in your car. Do not double park; blocking my driveway is allowed.

  • Text 410-929-0239 upon arrival.

  • A reminder text will be sent the morning of your order (between 11:00–12:00 PM).

  • The pickup address will be sent shortly [an appropriate amount] before your time. Please plan to arrive near the intersection of Belair & Moravia Road as the exact address is less than a minute from this intersection.

  • You have a 1-hour grace period after your scheduled pickup time. After that, you may retrieve your order at the next time I am available within the following 1–3 days (no charge, but no guarantee of immediate availability).

  • Please do not arrive outside of your scheduled window or unannounced—this is a private residence. Unauthorized visits will be reported to authorities.

 

Delivery:

  • I offer delivery for cupcakes and “SNACKIEZ” (e.g., brownies, small treats).

  • I will contact you with an ETA before leaving for delivery.

  • Delivery will occur within your selected timeframe or no more than 1 hour later (same grace period as pickup).

  • If I am running late, I will notify you. If I arrive more than 1 hour late without notice, your delivery fee will be waived, though the cost of the order still applies.

  • I will default to waiting at your door with the order unless you’ve requested otherwise (e.g., leave on chair, porch table, etc.).

 

Communication & Contact

  • I no longer respond to social media DMs or personal calls/texts as of July 2025.

  • Please email kaytellssweetsandtreats@gmail.com or text 410-929-0239 for all business inquiries.

  • Calls are accepted by appointment only. Leave a voicemail with your availability if you wish to discuss a custom order by phone.

 

Contact & Response Time Update

  • Please allow 1–2 business days for responses. I respond to messages Monday through Friday during business hours only. Weekend communication is not guaranteed.

Allergies & Dietary Requests

  • You must notify me of any allergies when placing your order.

  • I do not offer gluten-free items at this time.

  • KayTell’s Sweets is not an allergen-free kitchen. Cross-contamination may occur.

 

Custom Designs, Photos, and Changes

  • Reference photos are inspirational only. Colors, textures, and final appearance may vary.

    • No refunds for color differences unless it is blatantly incorrect.

  • Whipped icing is only available for 2-layer cakes due to stability issues. All other cakes are iced in buttercream.

  • I do not write in icing. Only cardstock toppers (non-edible) are offered for messages.

  • Photos are sent at pickup time only (some boxes are sealed).

  • No last-minute changes unless correcting a serious quality issue (which is extremely rare).

 

Creative Credit & Design Inspiration

  • Many designs are inspired by reference photos or customer requests, and I’m happy to bring your vision to life. However, if a design is an original creation by KayTell’s Sweets, that will be noted in the caption when shared online.

  • If you are a fellow baker recreating a design that I’ve clearly marked as original, I simply ask that you give credit where due. A small nod goes a long way.

 

Transport & Storage

  • Keep orders cold and level in your vehicle—preferably on the front passenger floor or trunk space with A/C running.

  • Once picked up, transport and storage are your responsibility.

    • If damage occurs after pickup, I am not required to replace or repair the order.

  • Store all items in a refrigerator until serving. Cakes are made of butter and sugar—they will melt in warm conditions.

  • Displaying cakes for long periods before cutting is not recommended.

 

Serving Sizes & Taste

  • Serving counts are based on standard, maximized cuts. Larger slices will reduce your total servings.

  • Taste is subjective. Refunds are not guaranteed unless the wrong flavor was made.

 

Flash Sales & Same-Day Orders

  • Flash sales are announced via social media and email. These are first come, first serve.

  • Items from flash sales are limited in customization and must be paid in full at the time of purchase.

 

Other Notes

  • Tips are welcome but never required. Your support is always appreciated.

  • By accepting your order at pickup, you confirm satisfaction with its visual quality.

  • I aim to provide beautiful, delicious treats and kind, clear service. If issues arise, communication is the best tool for resolution.

 

Photo Release Policy

  • Photos of completed orders may be taken and shared on KayTell’s Sweets social media or marketing platforms. This helps showcase my work and inspire others.

  • If your order includes any personally identifying images (such as cakes with your child’s photo or someone’s face), you may opt out of having these images shared by providing written notice at the time of your order.

 

Liability Disclaimer

KayTell’s Sweets is a registered home-based food business operating under Maryland Cottage Food Law. While all items are prepared with care and cleanliness, they are made in a private residence that is not subject to routine health department inspections. By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept this.

 

Order Confirmation Agreement

By placing an order, you agree to all terms and policies listed on this website, including lead time requirements, refund policies, storage instructions, and product disclaimers.
